Appearance
Estiben is a brown tabby cat with distinctive striped markings and green eyes. His established Star Warriors design uses elaborate black-and-gold armor combined with a dark emerald-green cloak.
His personal emblem is an eleven-point dimensional compass, usually represented in gold with a green center. It identifies his role as the Pathfinder.
His armor is lighter and more flexible than Briar's frontline equipment because Estiben is designed for reconnaissance, exploration and long-distance missions.
Personality
Estiben is kind, compassionate, intelligent, intuitive and resilient.
He is quieter than several of the other Star Warriors. He observes before acting and rarely makes decisions without considering how they will affect others.
His gentleness should never be confused with weakness. When someone under his protection is threatened, Estiben becomes remarkably determined.
He believes that finding the correct path is more important than reaching a destination quickly.

He also has a dry sense of humor, particularly around Margarito.
Backstory
Estiben originally belonged to an isolated feline exploration colony located near an unstable region of space.
Then his entire home disappeared.
There was no battle, explosion or planetary destruction. Estiben returned from a reconnaissance mission and discovered something far more disturbing:
according to the universe, his colony had never existed.
Maps had changed.
Historical databases contained no record of it.
Navigation systems denied that the location had ever been inhabited.
Even individuals who should have known the colony had no memory of it.
Estiben was one of the only surviving witnesses.
Because he no longer trusted digital records, he began documenting his memories manually and trained himself to preserve information through multiple sensory associations.
Years later, his journey brought him to Cove Island and the Yuki Star Warriors.
There he finally encountered an explanation for what happened:
Nexaris.
Abilities
Estiben does not possess Yuki's Convergence or Margarito's paranormal abilities. His powers and training specialize in navigating unstable reality.
Dimensional Navigation: Estiben can identify pathways through regions where normal coordinates fail.
Reality Distortion Detection: He recognizes inconsistencies between remembered geography and the reality currently surrounding him.
Memory Discipline: Estiben has trained himself to preserve exceptionally detailed memories, making historical manipulation more difficult to conceal from him.
Reconnaissance: He is an expert tracker, explorer and long-range scout.
Tactical Intelligence: Estiben collects and interprets information before committing the Star Warriors to unknown territory.
Combat Training: He carries a compact energy weapon, retractable armor blades and a staff capable of transforming into an energy spear.
The Eleventh Compass
Estiben's signature equipment is the Eleventh Compass.
It does not point north.
It does not even necessarily point toward a physical location.
The device compares different layers of space, memory and history.
When reality has been altered, Estiben can use it to identify contradictions—places where what exists and what should exist no longer agree.
This becomes extremely important when the Star Warriors begin exploring the Eleventh, where pathways connect histories rather than ordinary locations.
Relationship with Yuki
Estiben deeply respects Yuki, but he does not blindly follow her.
That is one reason Yuki trusts him.
Yuki can restore authentic patterns through memory.
Estiben can detect when the reality surrounding them may no longer represent the authentic pattern.
Together, their abilities make them particularly dangerous to Nexaris.
Estiben finds what was changed.
Yuki can potentially restore it.
Relationship with Margarito
Margarito and Estiben approach problems from opposite directions.
Margarito trusts psychic intuition.
Estiben trusts observation and evidence.
Eventually they discover that their abilities complement each other perfectly:
Margarito knows when a mind is lying.
Estiben knows when reality is lying.
Their friendship also gives Estiben some of his lighter moments.

MARGARITO: “When?”
ESTIBEN: “I'll notify you.”
Relationship with Briar and Kepi
Briar respects Estiben's discipline and reconnaissance abilities.
Kepi works particularly well with him tactically:
Estiben discovers the route.
Kepi determines how to move the Star Warriors through it.
Briar then organizes the forces necessary to hold the destination.
Together, the three create a powerful exploration-and-combat command structure.
Allies
Estiben's closest allies include Yuki, Margarito, Tokyo, Briar, Kepi, Lyra, G-01 and the Yuki Star Warriors, along with the broader Cove Island alliance.
He has a particularly important relationship with Lyra, because her knowledge of Nexaris may finally explain what happened to his original home.
Primary Enemy — Nexaris
Nexaris is Estiben's most personal enemy.
Nexaris does something worse than simply destroying civilizations.
It can replace reality until the universe believes the replacement was always true.
That means Estiben may be living proof that Nexaris has altered history before.
But Estiben's conflict with Nexaris is not based simply on revenge.
His ultimate objective is to ensure that no civilization can ever again be removed so completely that nobody remembers it existed.
Greatest Weakness
Estiben relies heavily on memory.
Nexaris eventually discovers how to exploit that.
Instead of erasing Estiben's memories, it begins giving him additional memories.
Estiben suddenly remembers two childhoods.
Two families.
Two histories.
Both feel completely authentic.
For the first time, the Pathfinder cannot tell which path represents the truth.
His challenge becomes learning that memory alone cannot define identity.
Role in the Star Warriors
Estiben is THE PATHFINDER.
Yuki restores.
Margarito connects.
Briar protects.
Kepi plans.
Tokyo pilots.
Estiben finds the way forward.
His purpose becomes increasingly important as the Star Warriors move beyond ordinary space into regions where history itself can become a battlefield.
