Appearance
Briar is a powerful black-and-white tuxedo cat. His defining facial feature is his black nose. This permanently distinguishes him from his brother Kepi, whose nose is pink.
He wears reinforced black combat armor with red accents, a dark/red command cape, and Star Warriors/P.L.A. insignia. His armor is heavier than the reconnaissance equipment used by Estiben and is designed for frontline warfare.

Kepi = pink nose.
Personality
Briar is disciplined, serious, protective and direct. He normally approaches danger as a commander rather than an adventurer.
He values strength, discipline, loyalty, intelligence and protection, but his strongest instinct is protecting his team. Briar will put himself between an enemy and another Star Warrior without hesitation.
Kepi is one of the few characters capable of breaking through Briar's military seriousness.

Briar's humor is usually dry and unintentional.
Backstory
Briar rose through the ranks of the Pussy Leakers Association (P.L.A.), eventually becoming one of its principal commanders alongside Kepi.
The two became known as an exceptionally effective command pair. Their similarities make them formidable together, while their personalities prevent them from thinking exactly alike.
Briar became especially important during the defense of Cove Island, where the conflict expanded beyond conventional warfare into biological, paranormal and reality-altering threats.
He eventually became one of the core Star Warriors serving alongside Yuki.
Combat Abilities
Briar is primarily a physical and tactical warrior rather than a paranormal one.
His strengths include close-quarters combat, heavy weapons, battlefield command, tactical analysis, defensive operations, squad coordination and high-risk extraction missions.
His reinforced armor gives him considerably greater protection than standard P.L.A. troops.
Briar is particularly effective when a mission becomes chaotic because he quickly converts Yuki's larger strategic objective into practical battlefield orders.
The Green Snakes
One of Briar and Kepi's defining missions occurred when the enormous Green Snakes of Cove Island appeared to attack the defenders.
Briar initially treated them as hostile combatants, but Margarito detected outside control.
Briar and Kepi reached the colossal Emerald Mother and removed the device controlling her. Her artificially yellow eyes returned to their natural deep emerald color.
The brothers discovered that the snakes were not enemies at all. They were ancient guardians of Cove Island.
That decision transformed a potential massacre into an alliance.
The Green Snakes later joined the Emerald Guard.
Relationship with Kepi
Kepi is Briar's closest battlefield partner and brother.
They are deliberately visually similar:
Kepi — tuxedo cat, pink nose.
Briar — tuxedo cat, black nose.
Briar tends to be the more stern and direct of the pair, while Kepi is more tactical and occasionally more expressive.
Their loyalty to each other is absolute.
Relationship with Yuki
Briar recognizes Yuki as the central Guardian of the Star Warriors, but their relationship is built on battlefield trust rather than blind obedience.
Yuki handles threats involving restoration, memory and reality.
Briar handles the immediate military question:
How do we keep everyone alive long enough for Yuki to solve the impossible problem?
Relationship with Margarito
Briar originally sees Margarito as an unpredictable paranormal asset.
That changes repeatedly throughout the Cove Island campaign.
Margarito's ability to communicate with beings that Briar cannot understand—including the Emerald Mother and trapped consciousnesses—makes him indispensable.
Briar eventually trusts Margarito's paranormal instincts even when the tactical evidence initially points in another direction.
Relationship with Estiben
Briar and Estiben understand each other well because both are disciplined professionals.
Their specialties differ.
Briar finds a way to win the battle.
Estiben finds the path nobody else knew existed.
Briar therefore becomes one of Estiben's strongest supporters when Estiben joins the Star Warriors.
Allies
Briar's principal allies include Yuki, Kepi, Margarito, Tokyo, Estiben, Lyra, G-01, the P.L.A., Green Sneak Soldiers, Emerald Mother and the Green Snakes, Paranormal Mice, and the larger Emerald Guard alliance.
Enemies
His major adversaries include Kaelus and his forces, the Destroyer, hostile mind-control forces, Nexaris and any faction attempting to enslave or erase the individuality of Cove Island's inhabitants.
Briar has particular contempt for mind-control technology because of what he witnessed with the Green Snakes.

Briar is The Warrior.
Where Yuki represents restoration and guardianship, Margarito represents consciousness, Estiben navigation, and Tokyo mobility and precision, Briar represents strength, discipline and protection.
His mission is simple even when the universe becomes complicated:
